Aftercare

PLEASE FOLLOW THESE INSTRUCTIONS CAREFULLY

You will be sent home with a kit to get you started. You will be supplied with everything you need to aid the entire healing process. If you misplace your kit or need more, they are available at the store or online for purchase.

IT IS VERY IMPORTANT THAT YOU FOLLOW THESE GUIDELINES. WE CANNOT BE RESPONSIBLE FOR CARELESSNESS. AFTERCARE IS VITAL TO THE HEALING PROCESS

IMPORTANT: Wash your hands thoroughly before touching or applying anything on your fresh artwork.

Your First Day...The Day You received your art

Keep the bandage on for the first 24 hours. You will be tempted to remove the bandage to show friends and family. Please show them the photograph you were sent. Your patience will be rewarded if you let the entire tattoo heal before showing it off.

It is a normal part of the healing process for plasma to weep from your tattoo. Many times the plasma will be colored with excess ink, this is nothing to be alarmed at, it is a normal part of your body’s reaction to the trauma of receiving your artwork.

Second Day...

Carefully remove the first bandage (ideally in the shower) and gently wash the area with just your hand and your supplied H2Ocean Foam Soap®, making sure you wash until it no longer feels slippery. Gently dry the area and leave uncovered for approximately 15-20 minutes. Gently place a very small amount of AquaTat Ointment® over the entire area, being careful not to over saturate your art. Place enough ointment on the tattooed area to avoid the bandage from sticking. Place your new (supplied) bandage over the art and make sure it is secure. It is important to use the same style of bandage you were sent home with during the entire healing process.

IMPORTANT: Keep This bandage on until the 3rd day, up to 24 hours later.

Third Day & Beyond...

You are now ready to move on to moisturizing your skin. Gently remove your final bandage. Your kit contains a bottle of Ocean Foam® which you will use for the next 3 days and until the peeling has stopped. Apply a small amount of the Ocean Foam® every hour, or every time your artwork feels dry. There is no limit to the frequency you can apply this product. Keep your artwork uncovered for the remainder of the healing process.

Thank You!

NOW ITS UP TO YOU

We have consulted with numerous medical professionals to bring you the most reliable, quick and comprehensive way to heal your artwork.

We want you to be happy with your piece for many years to come. Please do not hesitate to call with any questions.

DO NOT…

Sun Bathe. Sun is a killer of your art. Use sunscreen when you cannot avoid prolonged sun exposure.

Use a Loofah, Washcloth or Abrasive Product to clean your art, Hand wash only.

Let your art become soaked. This list includes but is not limited to the following:

  • Hot Tub
  • Bath Tub
  • Swimming Pool
  • Sauna
  • Steam Room
  • Excessive Exercise that cause the area to be overly sweaty.

Use any Aloe Vera or Aloe products. (this will pull ink from your art)

Rub, Pick or Scratch the Artwork. If you must itch the area use the pat/slap method around the artwork.

Listen to the advice from your friends or family regarding the proper healing of a tattoo and what products or methods are best.

Use ANY other products other than those prescribed by your Artist.
